Today, I set up shop at the Vernon Farmers’ Market for the first time! I don’t have a car (nor do I want one), so I rigged up a dolly with a bunch of bungee cords and walked!
It only took about 20 minutes and most of the route had sidewalks (rare in Vernon). Once I got everything securely fastened, it actually worked quite well! It held my folding table and chair plus my displays, tablecloth and all of my stock.
And a little bit of duct tape never hurts when things are falling apart!

It was great “parking” my dolly alongside all of the large vans and trucks!
My table looked pretty sparse after I got it set up, but I’ll slowly add to it through the season and give it some more style and flair.
It was pretty slow in terms of general market traffic, but it’s still early in the season, and everyone told me that the Thursday markets are much busier, so I think I’ll give it another try next Thursday!

“Alternative Transportation” is the best tag ever. You’re one dedicated lady! And I love the parking job. Will you be at the May long weekend market?
Ha ha, thanks! I’m going on Thursday the 20th and Monday the 24th, as long as it doesn’t rain. Hopefully it will be a bit busier!
